What about music?
It is well known that one of the best strategies one can use to teach or learn something as a language, is music. Thought the use of it, one can learn about the culture as well as vocabulary, structures and some of the traits of spoken language as it is intonation, pronunciation, rhythm and so on. The music captures our attention, helps us memorizing more and most effectively and can also encourage interaction.
Having in mind those advantages, today's post proposes a song to work on to learn not just English, but a lot more. Connection one of the latest songs released by the American group Onerepublic, explores the idea of relationships nowadays, how we interact with people and how technology can help or make difficult a connection. Working on this song with our students can create an awareness of how we use technology today and what are its advantages and disadvantages.
Thus, working on the song implies not only the analysis of the lyrics -which is very important- but also the critical analysis of the video and the situations it shows. So, we can lead the conversation and the activity to a moment where students answer and ask questions about, among other things:
